As an artist with working class roots, I’ve always been in the position of needing to make money from my writing.

Whether that’s teaching myself the skills of copywriting, or self-publishing my debut poetry collection to survive in the pandemic, I’ve found the most success when combining my art with my business.

There are many wonderful things about the traditional publishing model, but one of the drawbacks is that writers have to spend money upfront for literary journals to even consider their work for publication. I know rejection is an important part of growing as a writer. But paying to get rejected is simply not my style at the moment.

That can and will most likely change in the future. I’m here to manifest wonderful partnerships with the amazing people in the publishing world and book deals that change my life. But until then, I still have so much to write! So much to share!

I enjoy taking on the challenge of publishing and distributing my own writing, because it means I can directly profit from my work. Plus, I find it really, really fun. I hope you’ll feel that when reading one of my mini-books.
